Flint Vineyard

United Kingdom - England - England

About us

Founded by Ben Witchell in 2016, Flint Vineyard is focused on pushing the edges of English wine with sparkling Charmats, precise stills, and an experimental Wine Club.

Their location in rural South Norfolk plays a big role in the creation of their award-winning wines - it couldn’t happen just anywhere. One of the driest and sunniest spots in the UK, it proffers the perfect conditions to grow expressive, vibrant fruit, which once picked goes straight into their modern winery.

Visit

A visit to Flint Vineyard is much more than a slog around a winery. It’s an insight into how and why Flint do things differently

Located just down the road from Bungay in South Norfolk, Flint Vineyard is known nationally for its elegant, award-winning still and sparkling wines - most notably the UK’s first sustainably-grown Charmat.

Its Waveney Valley location is not only picturesque, but one of the driest and sunniest spots in the UK with free-draining flinty soil. They have over 30 hectares of vines and a state-of-the-art winery. From grape to bottle, everything happens on site.

During their tours, knowledgeable guides will walk visitors through the winemaking process and offer a close-up look at the vineyard, ending with a guided wine tasting in a traditional Norfolk barn, or overlooking the vines in the Flint garden when the weather’s nice.

Stay for a seasonal, locally-sourced lunch prepared in the Flint Kitchen, or head to one of their popular supper clubs or live music events.

They also offer vineyard tours and wine tastings in their traditional Norfolk barn or, if the weather’s nice, overlooking the vines in the Flint garden

Frequently Asked Questions

Do vineyard tours run all year?

We are open in all weathers and run our tours, tastings and events regardless of what England throws at us. Please check the website for our seasonal tour schedule and bookings.

What else is there to do at Flint Vineyard?

The kitchen is open for pre-booked and drop-in lunches throughout the year. Please check the website for seasonal opening times. The shop is open Tuesday to Sunday 10am until 4pm for shopping and drop-in tastings.

Is the Vineyard accessible?

We have low mobility parking at the farm. From there it's smooth concrete to the Cellar Door Shop, Wine Bar and the winery on tour days. The garden and vineyard can be reached via flat gravel and grass, which are suitable for wheelchairs and buggies. Wheelchair-accessible toilets and baby-changing facilities are available in the barn. Seating is available on tours for those less able to stand.

Can I bring my dog?

We are dog friendly. But there are often rabbits, pheasants and other dogs around the vineyard, so if your dog likes chasing things, please keep them on a lead.
