History

Guiding every step of the winemaking process at Attune, Kenneth Juhasz is focused on making lush, balanced wines and finding the harmony between power and elegance, structure and finesse.

Harvested by hand, our grapes are brought to the winery in small bins, where the whole clusters are cold-soaked and allowed to ferment slowly over the course of several days. The grapes are then gently pressed, and the juice is placed in a carefully selected mix of neutral and new French oak. We bottle after 18 months and age the wines for an additional year before release.

Producing only a few hundred cases of our single-origin Sonoma County wines each year, these labor intensive efforts enable us to showcase the absolute purity of our fruit and the heart and soul of our vineyard.

Vineyard & Terroir

With the assistance of Andrew Avilar from Carneros Vineyard Management, we sustainably farm 8.5 acres of an ancient riverbed, located in the heart of Sonoma County's Carneros appellation.

Our 100% Pinot Noir vineyard is divided into four distinct blocks, planted with a field blend of two Burgundian clones from the Cote d’Or that are ideally suited to our soils and location.  Clone 667 gives us beautiful acidity, great structure, small clusters, intense color and a long finish, while clone 115 helps us achieve a sophisticated elegance and incredible aromatics.  The synergy between the two clones produces wine with remarkable complexity, maintaining all the elements in tune.

Our vines are tended meticulously throughout the year and farmed to produce only about 2 to 2.5 tons per acre (which means we drop a lot of fruit). We hand-pick based solely on flavor, harvesting selected blocks over the course of multiple nights using nothing but headlamps to illuminate the rows.
