As usual, an inky purple black wine with a bright maroon rim oozing tangerine rind; blood orange; a veneer of plush black hedgerow fruit; allspice and piquant five spice; baked plum and liquorice; fynbos; and a slight savoury top note inviting one to take a sip. Sun-kissed apricot, dried peach, fresh plum, intense kirsch, bright damson and bramble jam flavours are gently cloistered in reassuringly fine-grained tannins, a melange of spice, tea leaf and fynbos, all culminating in a dry finish.
